Fear not, funny fans, “Chenoffin” will be back!
Broadway met Bravo when Kristin Chenoweth and Kathy Griffin made their debut as gal pal couple “Chenoffin,” at the 2010 Emmy Awards, and the duo quickly rocketed to the top of our “favorite funny ladies” list. It was Griffin who tweeted a photo with Chenoweth announcing their Hollywood couple name from the back of their limo before the pair went on to some spectacular tandem tweeting about their Emmy losses.
Was this a one-time pairing of the Promises, Promises star and the D-list diva? No way, says Griffin. “Chenoffin will rise again!” Griffin told Broadway.com as she worked the red carpet of fellow comedian Colin Quinn’s one-man Broadway show. “We’ll both be at [Quentin] Tarantino’s [Friar’s Club] Roast, so we’ll be back.”
Glammed up for the opening night of Quinn’s Long Story Short, Griffin fluffed her signature flaming locks and waxed poetic about her Broadway BFF, who was on stage just a short stroll away at the Broadway Theatre. “It’s a friendship that knows no boundaries,” Griffin said of Chenoweth. “I just adore her, and I love that she thinks I’m funny. She’s a Christian, and I’m like her naughty friend that she’s ashamed of.”
